I HATE grocery shopping. I streamlined the process a few years ago when I began shopping for meals rather than items, but it’s still a tedious process. Every week, I made out the list of meals we are going to have, the food we need to make it happen and then haul myself (and sometimes my brood) to the nearest grocery store to do the deed. But I found a few apps that might make the process a little smoother and Eliminate the Unnecessary stress I feel over the process.
Verizon Wireless provided me with a Motorola Droid Bionic for review of these apps. The phone had blazing true 4G speeds that made downloading, accessing them and updating them seemless.
First of all, I wanted my list to be better than the paper one I draw up right before going to the store. I wanted to be able to share it with my husband and, most importantly, I wanted the application to be free. I found two, OurGroceries and Shopriant. I found another called SavingStar that I wanted to try, but I needed my Kroger card number, and all I use is my alternative ID so it was going to require some work. I also downloaded Out of Milk, but one quick glance proved it just wasn’t what I wanted. I need categories and the ability to add information, not just a list.
I give two thumbs up to either Our Groceries or Shopriant, both of which provide all the bells and whistles without being too much or costing any money.
Special thanks to Verizon Wireless for providing the phone. The thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own. I was not compensated in any way for this entry.
