Family Finding My Vacation Photos Travel

Camping it up

Last week I mentioned that we did some camping over the Fourth of July holiday. Camping is something we like to do, but we are hardly roughing it. I’m giving you an inside look at our camper.

About four years ago, we bought our camper from a bank auction. It was a good deal, but there were several caveats. My husband didn’t have the ability to see it first, and he had to take my word for it when it came to whether or not it would work for our family. Second, we had no tow vehicle. The situation presented itself and the deal was too good to pass up. For a while, we used my dad’s truck to tow it, but that only lasted so long. We have an older Yukon XL that we pull it with. Our camper is heavy so it guzzles the gas, but hey, it’s all worth it for the family time.

Below is a video of my camper. I took the video while we were camping so that you could get a sense of what it is actually like. It’s killing me that I didn’t clean it first, but I wanted you to get a feel for what it is actually like inside our vacation home-on-wheels.

So there you have it! Our home-away-from-home. Camping is NOT as bad as you think, especially when you have a plan, some organization and a camper with air conditioning.
